Mid-Atlantic Selected for High Profile Vapor Intrusion Project

Mid-Atlantic recently completed a vapor intrusion study for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System at the Hanes and Lowrance Middle School site. Groundwater beneath the site has been impacted by release(s) from an adjacent industrial site. Mid-Atlantic was chosen because of our expertise in the field of vapor intrusion, track record of working with school systems, and ability to communicate complex environmental issues to the public. Our project team was led by Will Service, Mid-Atlantic’s environmental toxicologist and former project manager with the North Carolina Brownfields Program. For this project, Mid-Atlantic collaborated with other leading experts in the field of vapor intrusion, including Lenny Siegel, Executive Director of the Center for Public Environmental Oversight and Kelly Pennell, assistant professor at the University of Kentucky.
