Mid-Atlantic Awarded Four New Brownfields Contracts

Mid-Atlantic has recently been awarded four contracts with NC communities to assist them in building sustainable Brownfields programs.  These include Transylvania County, the City of Lenoir, the Town of High Shoals, and the Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments.  Mid-Atlantic staff will help prepare grant applications for EPA Brownfields Assessment grants and if awarded, Mid-Atlantic staff will conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments at high priority properties within each jurisdiction. Following the assessments, Mid-Atlantic will provide assistance with cleanup and redevelopment planning and future grant writing opportunities. Mid-Atlantic will also assist with community outreach efforts designed to keep the public informed and involved in building a sustainable Brownfields Program. We feel that our intimate knowledge of the Brownfields process (both private and grant related), our track record for finding innovative solutions, and our understanding of the challenges small and rural communities face are major factors in our success.

"Mid-Atlantic has been a good partner to us. Their staff is very accessible and responsive and they understand our environmental needs and corporate policies. Their high-quality product enables us to make timely and educated business decisions regarding property acquisitions."
