Entry to Project Level Engineers/Geologists/Scientists in Raleigh and Charlotte
Mid-Atlantic Associates is seeking entry to project level professionals to work in our Raleigh and Charlotte offices. Great opportunities for individuals looking to begin their environmental careers or expand their experience and work on a variety of challenging projects with experienced environmental professionals. Project level personnel should have at least four (4) years of experience in the field of environmental consulting. Anticipated duties would serving as project or assistant project manager, performing field activities and report writing. Candidates should have strong communication skills (written and verbal). Senior Project Managers in Raleigh and Charlotte
Mid-Atlantic Associates is seeking senior level engineers/geologists to help manage a variety of traditional environmental and brownfields projects. Person should be an PE or LG and have at least seven (7) years of experience in the field of environmental consulting. North Carolina Brownfields Program experience is a plus. Candidates should have strong organization and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to manage multiple projects in various phases at one time. Senior Environmental Engineer in Charlotte
We are seeking a seasoned professional engineer to lead our engineering services in our growing Charlotte office. Ideally, we are looking for the following attributes and experience:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina
- 7+ years of experience in civil, water resources or environmental engineering
- Desire to lead the growth of our engineering services in the southeast
- Experience in industrial or municipal markets
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically
- Strong interpersonal and time management
- CAD/Microstation experience a plus
- Ability to clearly convey technical concepts verbally and in writing
- Business development skills or willing to learn

Senior Wetlands Scientist
Mid-Atlantic Associates is seeking a Senior Wetland Scientist to lead the development and management of environmental consulting and natural resource projects in the Mid-Atlantic service regions. This position requires a self-motivated individual who will play a pivotal role in developing Mid-Atlantic’s natural resources services line and lead a resulting team of scientists and/or engineers. The ideal candidate will possess 7+ years of industry experience, strong leadership and team management skills, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and support Business Development growth initiatives by attending industry-related networking events.
Responsibilities and key requirements include:
- Perform and supervise field assessments such as wetland delineations, stream determinations, mitigation monitoring, and feasibility studies.
- Conduct rare, threatened, and endangered species surveys.
- Serve as lead consultant on 401/404 and CAMA permitting projects
- Prepare and review technical reports to include assessment forms, rating sheets, GIS site maps, photo exhibits, and additional required notations.
- Develop and oversee a diverse project portfolio for both public and private sector clients to include planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
- Prepare cost estimates/proposals and participate in community/public outreach events during the project development phase.
- BS/MS in environmental science, Natural Resources, Ecology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience conducting wetland delineations and stream determinations in NC, SC, and VA
- Professional Wetland Scientist is preferred.
- Extensive North Carolina permitting knowledge for federal and state agencies – experience with NEPA processes is preferred.
